Hildacy Preserve

Thursday, May 8, 2025
Join us this Thursday, May 8th, as we wander through the natural beauty of the Hildacy Preserve. The Natural Lands Trust has preserved 55 acres of this former farm property for our walking enjoyment. The trails go through meadows, woodlands, and along Crum Creek. The trails are unpaved, and have the usual assortment of small tripping hazards. There are no bathroom facilities in the preserve.
Call Beth Lawn (484-431-3096) if you’d like to carpool. Cars will leave from the town clock at 10 am, and follow this 7-mile route to the preserve. [Note: immediately after crossing the Springton Reservoir dam on Rt. 252, take a hard right on Palmers Mill Road; go 2-tenths of a mile, see Preserve entrance on the right.]
The walk will start from the Preserve parking lot (which is free) at 10:30 am.
If bad weather is forecast, call Beth to see whether the trip is still on; for help with the route to drive there, call Dan Snyder 610-457-9149. This beautiful walk is more physically demanding than our strolls around Swarthmore, but we’ll keep the pace moderate, and leave no one behind!
Time: 10:00 am to carpool; 10:30 am at Hildacy Preserve
Location: Meet at Swarthmore clock to carpool
