Walks & Trails: Garden Tour
This two-acre garden, owned by Swarthmore resident Charles Cresson, has been cultivated by his family for three generations. The garden contains more than 2,000 plant species and varieties, some of which are the original ones planted by Cresson’s grandfather when he created the garden around 1915.
Charles will welcome us, give us the history of this extraordinary Swarthmore property, and accompany us on a stroll through this world-renowned garden. This is peak bloom season, so you may want to bring your camera.
We’ll meet at 10:30 a.m. 32 Amherst Avenue, Swarthmore.
We suggest footwear appropriate for walking on uneven, grassy surfaces. If the weather is “iffy” find out whether the tour is postponed by calling Dan Snyder 610-457-9149.
