I never thought I could be scammed….. until I was is the title of an AARP Magazine article about financial frauds and scams. Seniors are targeted for several reasons, including having more wealth to be stolen as well as being less familiar with tactics used by these criminals. Forewarned is forearmed! SSCA will offer a workshop on recognizing and avoiding frauds and scams on Saturday morning, January 25 at the Park Avenue Community Center.

The presenter, Jim Sredenschek, has been in banking since 1986 and is currently manager of the WSFS Aston office. You may remember Jim from his five years as manager of the Swarthmore Bryn Mawr Trust. Jim is an Albright College graduate and lives with his family in Media. He will address bank fraud, identity theft, and protections and safeguards and suggest resources.

There will be no cost for the program and included box lunch, but registration is required with a $10 fee. (The fee will be refunded upon attendance.)
