Walks & Trails

Group walks are being scheduled by the Walks and Trails committee. Normally these do not meet at the PAC Center, so watch for meeting times and places in the newsletter. Some walks and hikes may depend on individuals traveling to various sites on their own or in carpools, and then walking or hiking together. (Carpooling is considered an indoor activity. The driver in a carpool may impose stricter rules for all carpool participants than have been published by the State Health Department.) Contact SwarthmoreTrails@gmail.com if you have an idea for a walk or a hike in the area.

Take your own walk using Swarthmore Senior Citizens Association's maps! We have mapped out over 20 walks and trails in Swarthmore. You can use the All Trails app on your phone; download and print the maps from the Borough's website; or visit the Library and check out one or more laminated maps.

Web Wanderings

Our Web Wanderings take place once a month on a Monday, year round, in the Park Avenue Community Center to enjoy viewing prerecorded videos. Topics range widely, including old-time comedy, history and art. We lunch together from noon to 12:30, then wander the web for an hour. Drop in on any session when you feel like it.

Ducks in a Row

How often have you said to yourselves, "I really need to get my affairs in order" as you keep procrastinating? Did you know that it takes upward of two years to settle an estate without a will? Without an Advance Directive, your family members will be at a loss to make medical decisions, maybe not the ones you would have chosen. Does your family know your passwords/codes to your online accounts, phone, access to your safety deposit box? Do you have difficulty having a family discussion about these issues?

Swarthmore Seniors is offering a series of three sessions that focus on how you can put your affairs in order and be able to talk to your family about your decisions. Barbara Sorin will facilitate; Barbara has had extensive experience helping families as hospital chaplain, counselor, and facilitator of grief and caregiver support groups

Facilitator: Barbara Sorin
Location: PAC Center 129 Park Avenue, Swarthmore

LunchBunch

The Lunch Bunch

Once a month gathering from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. The PAC Center is aiming to do more intergenerational programming between our Kids & Caregivers and Swarthmore Senior Citizen Association (SSCA). This is a casual meet-up over BYO lunch....with toys, a few table activities and a story read by a member of SSCA. Let's connect over a carrot stick or two. No fee or sign-up, just show up and bring your lunchbox.
(Caregivers stay with the children; this is not a drop-off situation. Just a great chance to connect to another part of our community!) Questions? Contact Lisa Oster at lisa@thecreativelivingroom.com
